Hi parents,
We had a great first day back. It feels good to be back in the classroom and I really appreciated how well the students were able to fall right back into our old routines. It was kind of like we never left. :)
It looks like when my email was deactivated my old blog was also deactivated, maybe forever, which is a real bummer, I'd always planned to look back and reminisce someday down the road....
Anyway, today we continued working on all the same things we'd started before the strike - Wayside School paragraph writing, spelling practice, and math using the stamp game. The Stamp Game math was especially efficient today, I was quite impressed by that.
We went outside for kickball in gym, and there was a crazy tailwind, so everyone was able to absolutely send it out of the park.
We did Daily LA, and I told the class a scary story.
Halloween is on Friday, and as always, students are encouraged to wear their costumes to school. Please make sure the costume doesn't feature any weapons or violent themes, blood, etc. We will also be having the Halloween Parade at 10:30am, and parents are welcome to attend.
I will repost the spelling words we had started working on before the strike, because our quiz will still be on Friday as well.
Have a nice night,
Zac
